Situated on the left bank of the Seine estuary, Honfleur , City of Normandy, has always attracted and inspired artists fascinated by the romanticism of this little medieval city nestling between two hills, bathed in the ever-changing light reflected from the water.
A regular visitor to Honfleur, seen as one of the cradles of impressionism, was Claude Monet, who visited the talented child of this land, Eugène Boudin, in whose honour the museum is named.
The Musée Eugène Boudin, a witness to this period, presents a rich collection of pre-impressionist and contemporary paintings by painters from Normandy and artists who spent time in Honfleur: Courbet, Boudin, Dubourg, Jongkind, Monet, Dufy, Friesz, Gernez, Hamburg…
The Manoir d’Apreval is a family estate 6 km from Honfleur on the coast road. Here they make cider products in the traditional way.
